A few weeks ago, I awakened one morning to God saying, "bead hunger." Shaking off the cobwebs, I questioned what I heard. The reply, "You know, beading hunger, like beating hunger."

I thought for a few confused minutes, and it hit me how I am supposed to make a difference in someone's life through beading and making jewelry. So, I am gathering a group of women to make jewelry between mid-September and November 1, with ALL proceeds going to Rowan Helping Ministries in Salisbury for their food pantry.

I displayed a few bracelets at church at our new year kick-off and took orders for three bracelets, plus two had already sold the previous week for the project. Looks like we're up and running!

The Cause:

Rowan Helping Ministries’s Food Pantry provides groceries to help those with limited financial resources to feed their families during financial crisis.

According to Diane Scott, director of Rowan Helping Ministries, last fiscal year over 282,000 pounds of food was distributed in Rowan County, assisting over 15,000 families. This is above the 44,000 meals served at the shelter kitchen.
